A woman's love and a man's love

Nothing on this planet can compare with a woman's love – it is kind and compassionate, patient and nurturing, generous and sweet and unconditional. Pure.

If you are her man, she will walk on water and through a mountain for you, too, no matter how you've acted out, no matter what crazy thing you've done, no matter the time of demand.

If you are her man, she will talk to you until there just aren't any more words left to say, encourage you when you're at rock bottom and think there just isn't any way out, hold you in her arms when you're sick, and laugh with you when you're up.

And if you're her man and that woman loves you – I mean really loves you – she will shine you up when you're dusty, encourage you when you're down, defend you even when she's not so sure you were right, and hang on your every word, even when you're not saying anything worth listening to.

And no matter what you do, no matter how many times you slam the door on the relationship, she will give you her very best and then some, and keep right on trying to win over your heart, even when you act like everything she's done to convince you she's The One just isn't good enough.

That's a woman's love – it stands the test of time, logic, and all circumstance.

A man's love fits only into three categories – “The Three Ps of Love – Profess, Provide, and Protect.”

A man may not go shopping with you to buy the new dress for your office party, but a real man will escort you to that party, hold your hand, and proudly introduce you all around the party as his lady (profess);

He may not cuddle you and sit by the bed holding your hand while you're sick, but a real man who loves you will make sure the prescription is filled, heat up a can of soup, and make sure everybody is in position until you are better (provide);

And he may not willingly change diapers, wash the dishes, and rub your feet after a hot bath, but a real man who loves you sure will walk through a mountain and on water before he'd let someone bring any hurt or harm to you (protect). This much you can believe.

If you've got a man who does these things for you, trust me, he's all in.

Excerpted from Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man, Steve Harvey

(I really know a man who does all these things to the woman he loves – he's my Dad.)

Regarding the book's title: will there be a sequel called "Act Like a Man, Think Like a Lady"?

I wonder if we can have someone experiment both approaches...haha~

Act like a Man, Think like a lady...男人有時也需擁有如女人般心細如塵的特質,才會如此窩心吧?

I think many men can do those 3 Ps, but the problem is to do that consistently year over year.

Also, to what extents would those 3 Ps being done is another matter, if the woman expect a 'A' and the man only did up to a 'B+'. It is still not enough in her eyes.

It is also an issue of 'Chicken and Egg'. Some women may expect her men be the first one to do all those Ps, because they think that they deserve it unconditionally. Well, I doubt all men think like that.

Love is not a fair game. Practically, I just think that we should just do what you can, and appreciate what you receive.

你說得對,他絕對是個"act like a man, think like a lady"的男人...

"I think many men can do those 3 Ps, but the problem is to do that consistently year over year. "
Yes, you are absolutely right.
Have you heard about this saying?

You have written a lot of short pieces, it took me a long time to read them. Now I know more about your writing style. BTW, I have sent you an email to your work email and I informed you that your book has been sold out in Commercial Press.

If you have time, please reply my email.
